Men's Formal Suits
There are formal events and then there are
parties. So how does one decide what attire come under the mens formal
wear category? When it
comes to men's formal suits, it most certainly means ‘Black Tie.
This means wearing a tuxedo to the occasion. Fine cut men's formal suits are a joy to
wear - not like the ones off the rack at the department store down the
street.
Even before it's altered, you can tell that the trousers are
going fit well at the waist, thighs, and seat, the jacket is going to
be in style and lay flat across the shoulder and chest while still
giving you plenty of arm movement.
Every man needs at least one well tailored formal suit for special occasions that
may arise, even if it's just once a year. And trust me, you will be glad to
have one because it will save you from feeling humiliated and cheap when
everyone else is wearing a formal suit up at some event except you. You
should choose a dark suit, preferably black or dark gray and be sure to make
it single-breasted. Choose a medium weight wool since it's long lasting,
holds it's shape well and is multi-seasonal. Steer away from a trendy cut.
Buy a classic style that you will able to wear for years to come. This way
you will only need to change your shirt and tie to keep your look
up-to-date. The mid-weights are best overall, especially with the usual
"air-conditioned-car-ride-into-the-air-conditioned-office" venture
that most people have in summer. And if you will be visiting a lot of
clients or doing hefty traveling, you will need this kind of durable fabric
which will stand up to the extra wear, but not be too hot.

formal suits in addition to sportcoats, trousers and men's dress pants from top

suits, tuxedos and blazers. In addition, you can find a stylish selection of topcoats,
including car coats, trench coats and more. No matter what your look, you will
find
men's formal apparel to suit your style.
Why buy designer men's suits from Canali,  Hugo Boss, Polo Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Zegna, Versace, Armani, Ferre, Dolce & Gabanna?
Well the difference is in the fabric and the cut. There are two kinds of men's
suits those
that make you look and feel like a million bucks and those that you
just can't wait to get off your body at the end of the day.
What's the difference between the two? Most would say it's the cut and
the material.

Accessories to Men's Suits
The formal shirt too comes in a range of styles. The white-winged
collar shirt is more formal. It comes with stiff pique and single
cuffs. The other style is considered less formal. However, it is also
more comfortable with a turned down collar with a pleated front and double
French cuffs.
A white dress shirt is a must-have for suits but also for dressier pants.
White shirts never go out of style and they look great with just about
anything. I especially like them worn under a dark sweater with just the
collar and cuffs showing--a classic look reminiscent.
Ties are wardrobe essentials because not only do they beg to be worn with
a suit, but they can be worn under a sweater or simply with a shirt. It is
important to have a variety of ties to coordinate with other items in your
wardrobe or just to match your mood. You should always purchase at least
one new tie per year since tie styles change more often than any other
men's fashion item. If you wear suits often, you will probably need to have many ties in
your collection. If this is the case, buy ties every season. That way you
will be able to have fun with more unusual colors and patterns that match
the season.
In formal shoes too there are two choices. One is the ‘pump which is a low-cut
slip-on made of patent or matte-finish leather with a dull ribbed silk bow
in front. The other is a patent-leather oxford which is a plain-toe
lace-up shoe made with thin soles and a small toe. One of the biggest fashion sins is to not match the color of your belt
with that of your shoes. Wearing black shoes and a black belt is a fashion
fundamental and will serve you on many occasions whether casual or formal.
If you have a limited wardrobe budget, at least have one pair of black
leather shoes and a black leather belt on hand. And please don't spoil your look by wearing odd colored
socks. Buy a couple pairs of black socks, preferably wool since they
retain their color and shape longer than cotton.
Formal Tuxedo
It's true; the tuxedo has always been considered as formal wear. The
tuxedo consists of a jacket plus trousers with accessories like a formal
shirt, waistcoat, cummerbund and bow tie and formal shoes to go with it.
There are a variety of styles in tuxedos.
Most tuxedos come with matching trousers. There are four styles in which it
comes single or double breasted with peaked lapels with a facing in
grosgrain on the lapel. There is also the single or double-breasted
shawl collar, which comes with either satin or grosgrain on the facing of
the lapel.
So you got your tuxedo now what?
Since it is mandatory that the waistband of the trousers should not be
exposed, it is important to wear a vest or a cummerbund. The necktie
is in a bow shape and its texture should always match the facings on the
lapels i.e. either satin or grosgrain. The bow should be either in
black or midnight blue and always be hand tied. It should not be
larger than a medium butterfly or narrow like batwings.
The material is the other factor influencing your men's formal suits
wearability.
Wool, silk and today's high quality micro fibers and blends should be
sharp looking and feel good to the touch. Polyester does have
its place but it is not in a men's formal suit material.
There is a reason that fine natural fiber fabrics are the hallmark of
fine men's formal suits. They wear well, they retain their shape and
color well and they just plain feel good on your body.
